Mobile Pantry

Finding Food Help Near You

Launched in June 2025, our Mobile Pantry brings fresh, nutritious food directly to our communities across the island. By reaching neighborhoods, community centers, and schools, we ensure that our neighbors in need have access to healthy food, regardless of where they live. Our mobile pantry is more than just a truck — it’s a vital link that helps nourish families and build a healthier, more resilient Kauaʻi.

Food Assistance

Finding Food Help Near You
Hawaiʻi Foodbank is here to help you and your family access safe, nutritious food when you need it most. Through more than 200 agency partners across Oʻahu and Kauaʻi, we provide food assistance to anyone facing hunger in our community. You may be eligible for federally-funded programs like The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), or your keiki may attend a school with one of our Food 4 Keiki School Pantries. Food pantries and distribution sites operate throughout both islands, offering consistent access to groceries and fresh produce. Use our interactive map to find food assistance programs near you, or access our resource guides for Kauaʻi. No matter your situation, we’re committed to connecting you with the food resources your ʻohana needs.

Food 4 Keiki

Snacks and Take-Home Food

If your keiki attends a participating school, the Food 4 Keiki School Pantry program can provide important nutrition support for your family. Well-nourished, food-secure students show higher rates of cognitive activity, school attendance, and academic achievement, which is why these school-based pantries serve as critical food resources for students, their siblings, and their families. Your keiki can receive after-school snacks at participating schools, plus take home food bags filled with canned proteins, canned meals, dry goods, snacks and more. This program helps ensure growing minds and bodies have the well-balanced nutrition foundation they need for learning and development. Contact your child’s school to learn if they participate in the School Pantry program and how your family can access these resources.

Kūpuna Programs

Nutrition Support for Our Seniors

If you’re a senior facing challenges with food security, Hawaiʻi Foodbank Kauaʻi’s kūpuna programs are designed specifically to support your nutrition needs. We understand that fixed incomes and transportation barriers can make accessing nutritious food difficult, which is why we offer multiple pathways to help you maintain your health and independence. Through our programs, you can receive monthly food boxes filled with essential groceries, access fresh produce that includes culturally meaningful fruits and vegetables, and obtain coupons for farmers’ markets and local growers. Our kūpuna programs recognize that proper nutrition is essential for your health and well-being, helping you avoid difficult choices between food and other necessities. Contact us to learn about eligibility for Senior Food Boxes, Kūpuna Fresh produce, farmers’ market coupons, and other resources available to support you and your nutritional needs.

Kūpuna Fresh:

Kūpuna Fresh needs to be built. Kaua’i has two different type of KF programs.

One is a bag of fresh local produce offered to our participating neighbors with our Senior Food Box Program complimenting that — once a month.

The other is a Kūpuna Fresh Program, partnered with he County of Kauaʻi Agency on Elderly Affairs. Eligible kupuna receive a bag of fresh local produce that includes protein and canned food — once a month. Kūpuna can call the Agency on Elderly Affairs to apply: (808) 241-4470

Neighbor Connector

Easy Check-In at Food Sites

When you visit select food distribution sites, you may check in using Neighbor Connector, our new paperless system that makes accessing food assistance easier and more efficient. This electronic platform allows you to register once and then check in quickly at participating locations without needing to fill out paperwork each time you visit. Neighbor Connector is part of Feeding America’s Service Insights project and helps us better understand our community’s needs so we can improve our services and advocate for more resources. All information you provide is kept private and secure. As more of our agency partners begin using this system, you’ll experience faster, more streamlined access to food assistance across multiple locations. This simple check-in process helps us serve you better while respecting your time and dignity.

SNAP Assistance

Maximizing Food Benefits for Families
If you’re struggling to afford groceries, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) can help stretch your food budget by providing benefits to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, meats, and other unprepared foods. While SNAP benefits cannot be used for prepared meals, vitamins, or non-food items, they provide crucial monthly support for families facing food insecurity. Hawaiʻi Foodbank offers free SNAP prescreening, application, and recertification assistance to help you navigate the process and access these vital benefits. Our trained staff can help determine your eligibility, complete your application, and assist with renewals to ensure you continue receiving support. Contact us to learn how SNAP benefits can help your family access nutritious food while creating long-term pathways to food security.
Nearly 1 in 3 Hawaiʻi households are struggling with food insecurity.

In 34% of households with children, one or more keiki are food insecure.
